How To Clean Linoleum

Linoleum is flooring made of natural fibers. They add beauty in household décor. These are used to make waterproof and hard-wearing surfaces in your house, which are usually wet. The question most people have in mind is how to clean linoleum? It cannot be cleaned with chemicals that are so harsh because harsh chemicals will destroy the natural fiber of the floor. Especially if your floor is old it becomes all the more difficult to keep it clean but if you maintain it better it can last longer. Maintaining the glow of floor is most important. Before starting cleaning your floor make sure that if it is a vinyl floor or a linoleum floor. Scrap the top of the floor and see whether the color goes through the floor or just stamped on the top. You need some ammonia to strip linoleum. Spread ammonia on floor. Give it a few minutes and scrub with the help of a nylon scrub brush. After scrubbing rinse the floor with a gallon of hot water mixed with half cup of vinegar. It will help to remove the ammonia left on floor. Get a good floor wax and wax your linoleum floor. Any paste or liquid wax can be purchased from a janitorial supply shop. With the help of a cloth spread liquid wax evenly on your floor. Let it dry completely and add another coat of wax on it. You can use only warm water to clean your floor in routine. But before it vacuum your floor to remove any dust particles. In case your linoleum floor has yellowed under bath rugs, just remove the rugs and it will gain its original color gradually.
