If apart from dust particles there is some greasy or sticky feel then put some water on both sides and either side of the DVD. If you are cleaning it first time, it would be better to clean it slowly. If need arises then use mild detergent and lukewarm water to clean it. Use soft cloth to clean it completely. Gently rub the sides of DVD. If there is finger marks then use isopropyl alcohol or methanol or ethanol. Dip a piece of soft cloth in any of these then clean both sides of DVD by this cloth. Never use any other liquid to clean the fingerprint marks because that can damage the DVD forever.
